Google Tag Manager Integration Guide

You can get your lightbox up andrunning on your site using Google Tag Manager - just follow these instructions and you'll be up and running in no time!

NOTE: This guide assumes you have already set up your site and container. If you haven't, just follow these instructions

Step 1

Log into Google Tag Manager

Step 2

Go into your site container

Step 3

Create a new tag. Give it a memorable name like "Digioh Lightbox". Select Custom HTML from the dropdown menu. 

Step 4

Log into Digioh, and click your name in the upper right hand corner. Select Setup Instructions from the dropdown men. On the next page, copy your installation code. 

Step 5

Paste this code in the new tag your created in step 3

Step 6

Check the box next to "Support document.write"

Step 7

Now it's time to add a firing rule. Click on the +Add button next to firing rule at the top of the page to the right. 

Step 8

Select the Create New Rule radio button. 

Step 9

Name the rule "GTM Dom Loaded" and select {{event}}, equals respectively from the drop downs and fill in the field with gtm.dom. Make sure it's all lower case.

Step 10

Save the new rule. It will automatically be applied to your Digioh Lightbox tag. Then save the Digioh Lightbox tag. 

Step 11

You should then see your new tag listed. It won't start working until you publish the new version. You can do that by clicking "Publish" in the top right and when prompted choose "Create Version and Publish".

Using the new Google Tag Manager interface

Step 1

 Go into your site container.

Step 2

Choose "Triggers" from the menu on the left hand side, then "New". Name your trigger "GTM Dom Loaded"

Step 3

Choose "Page View" as the event, then "Continue"

Step 4

 In the "Configure Trigger" dropdown, pick "DOM Ready", then "Continue"

Step 5

For "Fire on", pick "All page views". Save the Trigger.
*HTTPS - Make sure your triggers are set to fire on Http:// and Https://

Step 6

 Now go to tags, on the left hand side. Create a new Tag, name it “Digioh” and select "Custom HTML".

Step 7

In the HTML text area paste the Digioh code

Step 8

Check the box next to "Support document.write"

Step 9

After the Support "document.write" option, is the "Fire on" section.

Step 10

 Pick "More". A dialogue box will open showing the trigger you created earlier. Select "GTM Dom Loaded"

Step 11

Save the tag.

Step 12

 You should then see your new tag listed. It won't start working until you publish the new version. You can do that by clicking "Publish" in the top right and when prompted choose "Create Version and Publish".

That's it, your new lightbox is up and running!
